THE OPEN CENTRE TIDAL TURBINE

- First ever tidal turbine with open centre design for increased efficiency and bio-compatibility.
- 2MW rated power, 16m diameter, 300t weight, fitted to a 700t subsea base
- Direct-drive permanent magnet generator and no gearbox
- 3 prototype turbines deployed at sea and successfully commissioned
- Siriotek have been principal consultants for the prototype programme and have developed a number of innovative design solutions in the rotor, stator and blade retention system, reducing weight and manufacturing cost while improving durability
